Beliefs of the Reformed Church in America:

About God, the Father

God is the creator and Ruler of the universe.
He is the father of Jesus Christ.
He is our heavenly Father and provides for our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
He is present everywhere.

About God, the Son

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
He gave his life as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world.
He arose from the dead and is alive forever.
He is King of Kings and will be finally victorious over all evil.
He will return again at his second coming.

About God, the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son in the Trinity.
The Holy Spirit dwells in the hearts of people, convincing them of the truth of Christ's teaching and helping them in the Christian growth.

About Humanity

People are by nature sinful and cannot make themselves good.
They can only be made righteous by accepting God's forgiveness for sin through Christ's sacrifice on the cross.
Salvation is a gift from God received by faith.

About the Bible

The Bible is the infallible and inspired Word of God.
It is our only guide to show us what we should believe and how we should live.
It is for everyone to read so that all may hear God speak to their hearts and minds.

About the Church

The church is made up of people of every race who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Jesus is the head of the church.
The task of the church is to teach the Word of God and make Jesus known throughout the world.

About the Sacraments

We observe two sacraments instituted by Christ.  They are Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
